Bioinformatics

I am an undergraduate student in the University of Georgia Honors Program majoring in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology and minoring in Philosophy. I work in Dr. Kannan's Evolutionary Systems Biology Group, and as a 2009 CURO Summer Fellow, I will be conducting a research project this summer to study the structural changes in mutated tyrosine kinases under the guidance of Dr. Kannan.

Research interests

Currently I am studying tyrosine kinases mutations which lead to oncogenesis. In the future I want to continue to research cancer as well as explore other biomedically relevant fields of research.

Current projects

This semester I will begin studying tyrosine kinases mutations and learning how to use more tools in the field of Bioinformatics, leading into my research project for this summer.
